Adorable Toddler Caught Singing STAR WARS’ ‘Imperial March’ on Baby Monitor

All right, lots of things are “cute” on the internet, but this one really might have broken the mold. This might be the apex of cute and nerdy we’ve all been looking for. This is a video of a small child caught singing the “Imperial March” from Star Wars, all captured via her baby monitor.

Jonathan H. Liu uploaded the video of his daughter, with a little background on what happened.

“We watched Star Wars with our kids recently, and our toddler (2-and-a-half) really enjoyed the bits she saw before her bedtime. One of her favorite parts: the Imperial March. Here she is singing it to herself in her crib (as seen through the baby monitor).”

Okay, let’s be honest, this is so cute, it doesn’t seem possible. (Although I take some issue with starting the movie at a time too late for her to finish. How can any kid sleep not knowing if the assault on the Death Star worked or not?) [Editor’s Note: I think you’ll find the “Imperial March” actually debuted in The Empire Strikes Back, not the first film.]

First we got a mini-Darth Vader playing the “Imperial March” on a cello, and now this. Obviously our younglings are turning to the Dark Side with adorable results.

I don’t remember how old I was when I saw Star Wars for the first time, but I know I’ve been humming and singing the music ever since. John Williams’ score is as iconic as any other element or character in the films, a lasting legacy to the power of music, and one that obviously transcends age and generations.
