Add HARRY POTTER’s ‘Monster Book of Monsters’ to Your Shelf

Well, this is a website that my wallet is very sorry I’ve been introduced to: Side Show Toy wheels & deals in movie replicas & collectibles. I already have a hard time controlling my action figure impulse purchases. Now I can have little bits of licensed movie prop replicas too!?

For any die hard fan of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, you can now own a piece of literary magic to add to your bookshelves. The Monster Book of Monsters below is an amazing replica of Hagrid’s required reading for Harry & Co. during third year. The best part? While it looks exactly like the real thing, it won’t eat one (or five) of your fingers!

The text inside is not in fact what Edwardus Lima wrote–and what Hagrid taught from when he was promoted from groundskeeper to class instructor. As a matter of fact, there is no text on the inside at all because the “book” itself is largely sculptural. On the bright side, it does come with a copy of Harry Potter: The Creature Vault, which is a detailed look into the concept art that helped shape the films into the visual odysseys they became. From the merfolk and grindylows of the Black Lake to house elves to thestrals, The Creature Vault contains rare art, on-set photographs, and production notes sure to satisfy the Potter-head in all of you.

The thought of having this on a shelf sort of makes one a little more amped up for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them film, doesn’t it? There’s still no definitive word on who will take the titular role, but with options like Matt Smith, (hello, sweetie), Eddie Redmayne, and Nicholas Hoult, there isn’t really a bad apple in the bunch.

Check out the gallery below, and then head on over to Side Show Toy and put a down payment on this bad boy for yourself!
