It’s a good time to be a fan of the mouse.

With the recently released (and absolutely wonderful) new Mickey Mouse shorts hitting the Disney Channel and the interwebs, it’s only fitting that the next big Mickey news would have to do with his past — his long-lost past… sort of. In 10 days’ time, Disney (or Le House Du Mouse, as our Parisian friends refer to it), will be releasing a never-before-seen Mickey Mouse cartoon (technically, it premiered in France last month, but… ya know), done in the style of Steamboat Willie, via the Walt Disney Studios Animation panel, set to be held at the mecca of all things Disney, the D-23 expo in Anaheim (which I have the pleasure of covering/bragging about to all my friends).

Here’s a sneak peak at some images from Get a Horse. Why? Because we love you, and because Mickey Mouse is the awesome.

Mickey, Minnie, and a new friend travel on a musical Haywagon journey…

…whereas Peg-Leg Pete scoffs at haywagon technology AND mouse-related traffic jams.

If you’re lucky enough to be attending D-23, you won’t want to miss this special moment in Disney history.
