Who hasn’t fantasized about what they would do with $1 million before? It is something that I tend to do more and more as I get farther into my adult life. The answers generally change as you get older. That million dollars’ worth of toys and Big Macs turns into an awesome car, turns into an awesome house, turns back into an awesome car, turns into retirement money, turns into inheritance. I’d like to believe that very few people would decide to fund a self-made horror movie starring Corey Feldman and Adam West. Mostly because it has already been done, and was done 14 years ago.
According to Redditor neckbeard-le-pirate his friend’s father, Rick Vasquez, spent $1 million in 2001 to film a movie, based on Rick’s own screenplay, starring Corey Feldman and Adam West. The film, Seance, is a horror film about a group of friends that get more than they bargain for when they hold a seance for the fun of it.
Vasquez’s movie sat in “distribution hell,” after being shot, which the Redditor contributes to the movie “being terrible.” With the grainy VHS look, Feldman headlining, we aren’t going to argue that. It seems Mr. le-pirate and his friend convinced Vasquez to allow them to finally post the entire film to YouTube, and it can be found here.
The Reddit post also offers quotes from Vasquez on his experience with both Corey and Adam on set:
âCorey is believable, sensitive, exceptional performance. It is the best film Corey Feldman has ever done.â
âWe called Adam [West] âone-shot Adamâ because he could do every take perfectly in one shot. Everyoneâs childhood hero became our hero on set.â
So I now pose a question to you, readers. What two obscure actors would you cast in a lower-budget horror film if you made one? Let us know in the comments below, or let me know over on Twitter, @MattDelhauer.
