As great of a year it has been for Pokémon (with the franchise celebrating its 20th anniversary, and all), Kirby is also having a strong 2016. The little pink Nintendo icon recently had a new title hit the Nintendo 3DSâKirby: Planet Robobot, which most have agreed is a blastâbut the fun doesn’t stop there. It was just revealed that a Kirby-themed café is on the way to Japan. Why does Japan get to have all the fun? Here’s the adorable announcement tweet of the newly minted Kirby Café:

Clicking on the link in the tweet takes you to the official website that reveals the café will be opening up in August. Unfortunately, that is about all we know at this point. What will be served at this establishment and all other specifics have yet to be divulged, but that makes the speculation more exciting. What sort of pink pastries would be appropriate for this themed café? How about the drinks? The possibilities are endless, friends!
It’s a bit of a strange move for Nintendo, to say the least. But if there’s one company that marches to the beat of its own drum, it’s the Big N. Hopefully this is an initiative to open up several video game-inspired food joints in and outside of Japan.
How do we convince Nintendo to bring the café over to the States? Which other character is worthy of getting its own establishment? Do you think we’ll see more of these Nintendo-themed locations opening up elsewhere? Is there anything in particular you’re hoping is served at the Kirby-themed café? Let us know in the comments below!
