Now that’s it’s October, many of you out there are starting your yearly Halloween horror movie binge watching sessions, re-viewing your favorite classic fright flicks on Netflix, or AMC FearFest, or maybe even your own physical media collection of DVDs or Blu-rays (physical media?? I know; how old school of me).
But for those of you out there who just don’t have the time to marathon through ten Halloween movies, twelve Friday the 13ths, seven Nightmares on Elm Street, etc., a YouTube user and horror fan named Nick Amideo has created a terrific horror movie mash-up, which is absolutely perfect to get one in the mood for the Halloween season, all set to the ultimate pop music ode to all things scary, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” You can watch the entire video above.
At over seven minutes long, the video features scenes going back to the days of the Universal monsters of the 1930s, right up to the recent horror flicks of today like The Woman in Black. Even non-scary (yet iconic) Halloween movies like Ghostbusters and The Rocky Horror Picture Show are included, as well as Disney’s contributions to the holiday with the original animated Legend of Sleepy Hollow and, of course, The Nightmare Before Christmas (listen carefully, and there’s some narration from Disney’s Haunted Mansion attraction as well). Overall, over 100 classic films are referenced in this supercut.
What do you think of this horror movie mash-up? Did they somehow forget to include your own personal favorite Halloween time movie? Let us know down below in the comments.
