A Giant Lollapalooza Playlist for Every Kind of Music Fan

Lollapalooza is easily my favorite midwestern music festival, and second only to Coachella among festivals in the country. Aside from having consistently diverse lineups and an interesting history that extends all they way back to the ’90s when it was a touring show that involved some of the biggest names in rock music, it stands as one of the most uniquely laid out urban festivals in 2015.

Right in the heart of downtown Chicago, attendees are able to catch huge acts as well as up-and-comers while both Lake Michigan and the city’s skyline serve as backdrops to the event. Also if you want to bail, you don’t have to go back to a shitty tent and eat Cliff bars for three days straight (been there), you can venture out into the heart of the city and eat deep dish pizza within minutes.

If you are going this year, you probably won’t have any inkling of a desire to bail (unless you are a monster and don’t like Paul McCartney for some reason), because each day of the lineup is stacked from the large-print bands all the way down to the hard-t0-read print bands. I am headed there with my dad at the end of this week, so today I got really stoked and made the above 40-track playlist full of a bunch of jams from musicians representing a broad spectrum of genres. If you are a fan of Emo, Metal, Hip-Hop, Indie Rock, Pop, EDM, or Jazz, there is something for you on this playlist.

Not able to attend Lollapalooza this year? DON’T WORRY, WE GOT YOU SON. Be sure to tune in all weekend long, beginning at 12 PM PST, for our live-stream of the Chicago music festival. You’ll be able to catch a host of great sets from Paul McCartney, Metallica, Florence + The Machine, Alabama Shakes, Cold War Kids, Father John Misty, TV On The Radio, Alt-J and more! Check back with us soon for the full schedule for each day.
