A GAME OF THRONES Season Five Featurette is Coming in February

Hold onto your butts, fans of the realm, because there is a bit of Westerosi goodness coming our way before Game of Thrones‘ fifth premiere in April.

We reached out to HBO and can confirm that yes: a featurette — like winter — is coming. Beyond that, though? They were mum on the details as to what it might contain. According to fan site Winter Is Coming, the 28-minute long sneak peek (or what-have-you) is scheduled for Sunday, February 8th, at 7:30PM and titled Game of Thrones: A Day In The Life. So what the heck: why don’t we have a bit of fun speculating, eh? I mean what else do we have to do (to say nothing of the contextual information we already have)?

There’s no question the featurette will focus on season five — and there’s plenty potential business to be discussed in that regard. Particularly given the veritable smorgasbord of people, places, and things new to the TV series that are going to be explored. Also last year at the same time — February 9th — HBO aired the Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing special.

With a title like “A Day in the Life,” it does seem to suggest that the show’s incredible production schedule and scale might be the focus, though it could also be something more character-specific. (Maybe including some of that Dornish footage with Jaime Lannister we saw earlier this year?)

It also seems likely that Dorne and Braavos may be at the center of things, considering they are whole new parts of the Realm we’ve yet to see — and, well, the series isn’t exactly small as it is, so it may be helpful to introduce the non-book-readers to all that (and some of the other more, uh, magical aspects) through something like a featurette.

What do YOU think it’ll cover? Let us know in the comments.
