  1. Lucy says:

Even if this does resemble Mulan, it’s a movie with a strong female protagonist. Period. And I agree with KW, this might have Tangled syndrome. I’m going to see it.

  2. -Di. says:

Yes this also reminds me of “How to Train Your Dragon.”

I love the Scottish accents. It is Pixar. I am willing to give it a chance.

  3. Andrew says:

Animation looks great and I’m sure it’ll be another PIXAR home run, but…WHAT IS THIS MOVIE ABOUT?!

  4. KW says:

I feel like this is currently suffering from Tangled syndrome, where the trailer is cut terribly/makes it look like something it’s not (at least this one doesn’t feature a Pink song from 10 years ago…). Think this will still be a strong movie, don’t let the crappy marketing ruin it for you!

  5. Lisa says:

This somewhat oddly reminds me of How To Train Your Dragon, which I personally loved! So we’ll see how this one panes out.

  6. Heath says:

I love me some Pixar… but I’m not feelin’ this. Definitely feels more Dreamworks than Pixar. Bummer.

  7. flea says:

    @es

Are you quoting the most repeated comment on the IMDB message board for The Help?

  8. farleyk says:

Was that Billy Connelly’s voice for the father? For that alone, count me in.

  9. Amazing says:

I want to see this movie, but only because I have a soft spot for Scottish accents

  10. es says:

Oh great, another movie about white people.

  11. Kati says:

I love Pixar and love Kelly Mac Donald’s voice. But, the character design look all too very similar to How to Train Your Dragon. Very surprising. Looks very pretty all the same.

  12. Peter says:

If I were looking at this without prior knowledge about the movie, I would probably think it was Dreamworks or maybe the guys that did Sunny With a Chance of Meatballs, but not Pixar. The animation doesn’t seem like the style I usually associate with Pixar. Also, the story seems like a Scottish Mulan, and like Gabriel said, it looks like there’ll be too much slapstick and silly “Kilts don’t require underwear, therefore genitalia” jokes. Hopefully I’m wrong, but it doesn’t seem like it’ll be up to the quality I expect from Pixar. They’re getting pretty good at hair though.

  13. kari says:

Didn’t they already make this movie, only set in Japan and it was called Mulan?

  14. Gabriel says:

This looks different than what I remember the animation looking like before. Has the style changed or is my memory just fucking with me? I’m not at all happy with this trailer. It feels like everytime it is about to get good they throw in slapstick. This feels to much like Thor. I want to be wrong.

  15. David says:

Why is there such a long gap between the US release date and the UK? But it looks good, not sure if I like that girls voice though :.

  16. Mario says:

I’m hearing Amy Pond every time she speaks. So weird.
