A BB-8 Toy Meets Puppies and Cuteness Ensues

Sometimes characters grab your heart the second you see them, and BB-8 did just that when the first teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuted last fall. Affectionately known as the soccer ball droid (Lucasfilm concept designer Christian Alzmann said he did look at a lot of soccer balls for inspiration), BB-8 raced across the screen and into countless gifs and memes. Now that Force Friday has arrived, fans can finally bring BB-8 toys into their homes—including one from Sphero that rolls around your home, responds to voice commands, and sends holographic messages. Yes, this is real life. It is not a trap.

To show off the mobility of the little ball droid, Vanity Fair took a unique approach. They put BB-8 in a room with puppies. We all owe them our thanks for making this insanely adorable minute happen. Watch:

OK, universe. It’s up to you to put together BB-8 and kittens now because that’s the only combination that could possibly top this.

Sphero’s BB-8 is controlled via an app and has gyroscopic propulsion and inductive charging. It’s roughly six inches tall which means you can rationalize owning it because the ball droid doesn’t take up much space! The BB-8 toy is $149.99 and will be available on Force Friday, September 4, at Best Buy and Disney Stores among other places. You can get more information from Sphero.

And because we all deserve it, have some gifs of BB-8 and puppies!

Will you be tracking down Sphero’s BB-8 tomorrow? Let us know in the comments!
