41st Annual SATURN AWARDS Nominations Announced

The nominations are out for the 41st Annual Saturn Awards, which are kind of like the Academy Awards, but for movies you actually paid to see in the theater. (I kid, I kid. Sort of.) Seriously though, the Saturn Awards already have a leg up on the Oscars since they managed to nominate The Lego Movie for best animated feature. This year the Saturns have added the category “Best Superhero Television Adaptation,” which is another indicator that nerds rule the world, as there are now enough superhero shows on TV to warrant their own category.

Marvel Studios is also having another epic year at the Saturns, with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy  racking up an impressive 11 and 9 nominations, respectively, and Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar receiving 10 nominations. Still, as with all awards shows, there are some major snubs. Can someone please explain the lack of nominations for Penny Dreadful and Orphan Black? I mean, really now.

The 41st Annual Saturn Awards will be presented June 25, 2015. Here’s the full list of feature film nominees:
