What would “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” look like if, instead of the broad comedy we all remember, it was one of those serious indie coming-of-age movies filled with hipster angst and precious moments? Maybe, this:
That’s what Joseph Brett did in recutting the “Ferris” trailer as an editing exercise. What’s interesting is that it really doesn’t reimagine the movie much at all. We remember the broad moments — the parade, the car, “Bueller?” — but the movie was, at its core, about Ferris helping Cameron break out of his shell, and that’s less comedy than a teen dealing with self-repression and crippling angst. So all that’s happening here is that the funny stuff’s been mostly stripped away to leave something Zach Braff might have made.
This is like a good version of a Zach Braff movie!! Haha i think either way this movie would have been great, either serious or as hella funny as it was
Wow. That was brilliantly done. I would watch that movie. It has a 90’s Indie feel all over it. Excellent work.
That was great!
Still, it was really hard to fight the song out of my mind during the slow motion part. *Bom Bom, Ohhhh Yeah, Chicka Chicka
this is brilliant.
This was a fantastic exercise with an unexpected turn out. Kudos.
