1 + 2 = STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Super Teaser

Yesterday’s debut of the second teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens lit the galaxy (also known as the internet) on fire faster than an Ewok torch and it had everyone here freaking out about the possibilities. The thing about it is, and this is genius: the new teaser didn’t actually show us anything we hadn’t seen or known about before, just different shots of them. Sure, Han Solo and Chewie show up at the end, but we knew they were in the movie already. Most of the other things we saw (X-Wings, Poe Dameron, Stormtrooper Finn, Rey, BB8, Millennium Falcon, Stormtroopers, Kylo Ren) were all present in the first teaser. So, why not put them both together and see what happens?

Adam Kontras has cut together the above mash-up of Jakku goodness by thematically putting together the two, removing Andy Serkis’ voice over from the first one and keeping the Return of the Jedi dialogue Luke says from the second one. It all flows together pretty seamlessly, though, and gives us a fuller picture.

There’s also the method employed by Kyle Bailey which is to just plop the two together, one after the other, though he removes the first teaser’s Falcon chase for flow purposes. He says “it clashes too much with the beginning of the second, and also because it just fits better in my personal opinion.”

Whichever way you want to look at it, we have a scant couple minutes of footage of what will most assuredly be the cinematic event of the winter, possibly the whole year. I know it’s just gone Spring, but can December 18 hurry up and get here? I’d like a bit more Star Wars in my life, s’il vous plait!

Which Super Teaser method is your favorite? How would you do better? Tell us about it below, and don’t miss our Star Wars teaser reactions and analysis from yesterday!
